June 2020 Trade Performance

Yeah so I got a couple of big wins in MGNX and ALT this month. But mostly it's a lot of small losses that eat into my profits.

I'm happy that my max win is greater than my losses and that my average loss is less than my average profit. A small edge there perhaps in my trading. I'll take it. Unfortunately I don't think my win ratio is enough to make this any meaningful. I need a bigger win ratio if I'm to maintain this small edge in my trading.

I need more MGNX's and ALT's and less of the pesky small losses. haha

Have a lot to improve on so let's see!

Setups: $PRTS and $MIK

Biases on the sectors aside, think I'm going to enter these setups that look like they're going to breakout any time soon.

New Longs: $CHGG, New Setups: $UPWK and $HSC

I went long this stock yesterday, I really think it has some potential to move to new highs. How about a little market push?

This setup as well. It briefly broke out of the range and I feel like there's some pressure building in this stock so I'm going to go long today.

I like the tight range being printed by this stock. So I'm going to come in before the volatility comes in. Let's hope it's volatility moving up not down.

Awesome Trade: $ALT

Awesome trade that worked for me. I need to focus on these kinds of setups. Short burst and profitable. 

Stop out: $MRNA

Damn it. I got stopped out on the same day. I hate it when this happens. Since it is the end of June almost, I wanna review my trades. I have mostly lost money this month when I shouldn't be!

How to Make (a little bit of) Money: $DELL

Stopped out of $DELL with a small profit of around $30 lol. At one point i was sitting with a $160 paper profit during pre market. DELL just didn't hold up and gapped down today. My trailing stop hit and that was that. 

I am long $MRNA as well it popped at the open beyond my BSLO but it is weak right now. Let's see what happens.

Long on this stock on the break of the mini range.

New Long: ACB

First marijuana stock that I bought ..nice breakout here in the first 15 minutes. 

Also saw this name breaking out on good volume. Bought it 

What's with REITs?

I don't know what's going on but all of the setups I put in my watchlist today are REITs. They seem to be setting up so I'm going to watch them closely tomorrow.

Setups: $ALT

Have a BSLO on ALT when it breaks the opening 15m range. Let's go.

How to Lose Money: $CROX

By death through a thousand cuts. Got stopped out last friday on CROX thought it was a good breakout in the morning but it failed later in the day.

The good news is that Dell seems to be doing better.

New Longs: $CROX and $DELL

Think these two are showing some potential today for a nice upswing. ARCT seems to be doing well but I tightened my trailing stop to 3.0%. BILL is also doing okay but not yet breaking out I will probably choke the trade out next week if it still doesn't move.

How to Lose Money: $MRSN, $ATRA and New Longs: $ARCT, $CAPR, $OSTK

Meh I lost money again trading high momentum breakouts but that's just the way it is. MRSN had so much potential to breakout but it decided to pullback on me. I have a trailing stop of around 6.5% and it just got hit yesterday.

ATRA was a long for me early in the morning session but it pulled back again around 6.5% from the highs and I got stopped out during the day.

Long on these guys this morning, let's see how it goes. I stopped out of NAT early in the day too.

How to Lose Money: Getting Whipped $NVAX

Guess I had the right idea but the stock had different plans. Whipped me out of my position in the first hour and a half of the morning session.

Still looks good. But it's a little late for me to enter. I was long $47.51 and stopped out at $46.01 of course the stock decides to run 5 points away from me :) that's just how it goes.

How to Make Money: Weekly Watchlist June 14, 2020

Here's to hoping some of these things actually work and make me money as opposed to losing it :)) Last week was a negative week for me. Hopefully things will be better this time around.

Watching: TRTX, NVAX, NAT, MRSN, MGNX< LIVN, TXG, RAPT, and FVRR

Terrible day for longs

Out the gate I got stopped out on my positions in IIVI and WVE. MRSN still hasn't triggered my buy-stop lmt order and the setup still looks good actually so I'm going to leave my orders on but will adjust the stop limit price.

4% breakouts were less than 10 today, markets are starting to correct which might mean that I should focus on stocks that are pulling back in a nice orderly manner.

Out of my positions, only BJ survived.

New Setups: $AIMT, $ACST

Think these guys are ready to go for tonight. Adjusted some stops up on my existing positions to around 2.5% from the recent highs after buying.

Some notes from Studies Today

1. Watch for inside days when momentum phase starts
2. Look into tightening stops when on 3-5th day of move

Could have saved a lot of $ on that move had i been stopped out for less. But this was a nice swing for me :)

$NLS nice breakout but got stopped

This broke out nicely in the AM session and I was quite up a bit on this stock. Later on the day though it decided to sell off and my trailing stop got it. I'm out for a break-even trade so I guess that's okay, still a bummer though. On to the next trade!
