Trading Plan

I don't like any of the stocks in my watchlist today. I feel like the market is getting a little bit choppy. But I'm still waiting for the turn on some of the stocks in my list.

If I can wait it out maybe I'll save a few dollars here and there on losses.

For now this is what the list looks like.

Work

Once again work has gotten in the way but I have been constantly trading. But just barely breaking even. Which frustrates me some times.

Been learning a lot from EG's site and have been incorporating a lot of the things he teaches in my trading.

My takeaway is that you have to find out for yourself. This is the key thing. Otherwise I will just be following someone else's methods without knowing how it works.

Extended Names Got me

Yesterday was a pretty strong day for the market but I ended up getting stopped out on two names ETSY and BAND and AEM. This puzzled me greatly because I really expected them to ride alongside the market as a whole.

I need to set a filter for extended stocks. And I need to define them so as not to make the same mistake.

VIVO

Just one name on the list for me today. Looking for the pop after that pullback. Futures are pretty strong today so I'm confident pullbacks will work.

In other great news my positions in ETSY, PS, BAND, AEM, and NUS are all slightly in the money. Hopefully they have a good run this week so I can bank $$$.

Losing STreak

Been getting stopped out left and right of my trades. Regardless, still need to show up everyday. I have been focusing on anticipation setups. Which I will try to figure out on the fly which ones are the good ones and which ones are the bad ones :) Already adjusted my scans to only play those with momentum.

PS is a stock I already bought yesterday.

CAN - Stop Out

CANt seem to get my groove on lately. I caught the nice breakout but it sold off on the 3rd day. I was hoping it would run further and have day 4 and 5 but nope. I got stopped out at break-even.

Still have some open positions but i'm really liking this anticipation thing. I'm not in a hurry to get into setups, I just set up the stop orders and I'm good for the day. Should work even when I'm in the office.

I did an experiment...and it didn't work LOL

I did an experiment wherein I took a lot of setups and posted GTC orders on them. I must have gotten hit on around 7 out of 10. And promptly sold out on each one the following day. I thought that this would help me with just matching my trading with my schedule but no. Having multiple positions actually gave me a bit of anxiety so I'm not gonna do that again.

I will be more selective with my setups. Focus on those I think are the A+ setups :)

Creeper setup: VERI

"Creeper" setup: VERI.

  • Stock trading and creeping up the highs until it explodes.
  • looks very scary but i have to watch out for this, this can make some really explosive moves.
  • Have to think about how to scan for these things
  • Idea: stocks near top end of a bollinger band. Going to experiment on this tonight.

Anticipation scan Idea: Double Inside Days

Some inside day plays i'm looking at as an anticipation scan idea.

Trying another method

Going to try anticipation setups for now. Putting in GTC orders on stocks that I think will be breaking out :)

I only have one for now:

Realized that this might actually better. So I have more time doing studies of stocks and researching on how I can do this better. This also completely avoids me being "on" during market hours, since I  am slowly finding out that it is unsustainable for me. Hope this works.
